Skool
Geometry instruments, placed on your screen.
Skool places a transparent window on the desktop with a ruler, a set square, a protractor and a graduated ring. Measure, draw and annotate on top of any application: a PDF, a digital textbook, a photo of an exercise book. Native application, with no account and no connection.
Beta version

Software that works directly on the desktop.
Skool has no window. Its tools — protractor, set square, ruler — sit directly on the teacher's desktop, on top of any application.
A pin keeps it on top, a “Paper” mode gives an opaque background when a blank sheet is needed, and the toolbar goes wherever it is least in the way.

Centimetres that match the document.
A magnifier captures what is displayed under the window. Draw a segment whose length you know, enter its measurement — “4 cm” — and every instrument is graduated to that scale.
The ruler then measures the textbook figure, the plan or the map as displayed, and the graduations are redrawn crisply at every change of scale.

What Skool does today
Everything below is in the beta version.
Four instruments
Ruler, 45° set square, protractor with angle reading, and a ring graduated in degrees and millimetres for drawing circles and arcs. They move and rotate freely.
Guided drawing
The pencil follows the instrument: a straight line along the ruler, a full circle around the ring, a centre point. Thickness, opacity and colour of your choice.
Recognised shapes
A freehand stroke becomes a straight line, a circle, an ellipse, a rectangle, a triangle or an arrow as soon as the pencil is released.
Images and notes
Images are dropped or pasted in (PNG, JPEG, GIF, WebP, SVG). Notes, written in Markdown, come in four colours and can be hidden with one click.
A desk you find as you left it
Everything is saved automatically and restored at startup: instruments, strokes, images, notes. Undo and redo cover the whole desk.
Lightweight and local
An installer of less than 8 MB for Windows. Data stays on the machine, in a readable file. No telemetry, no cloud.
What comes next
Planned for version 1.0, not yet delivered.
